| Description | The status of the butterfly is common and the wingspan is 37-40mm.  It is commonly found among open grassy patches and low flowering plants. It flies mainly 1700-2800m, but also seen up to 3960m. The under forewing id dull orange and under hindwings pale fawn-grey with prominent black spots. A white band on under hindwings between discal row of spots and sub marginal double row of border. Male reddish copper in cell and basal area, and purplish sheen along margin. Female has upper hindwings brown and on upper forewings only discal area and cell orange –copper. The host plant for this species is Rumex hastatus. |
